Two out of 10 members of the on -board guides on board Air India, which crashed in Gujarat on Thursday, were from the manipur conflict.
The fate of both women – Kongbrailatpam Nganthoi Sharma, 22 and Lamnunth Singson, 28 – remained unknown as relatives and neighbors who gathered in their residences and waited for an official confirmation of their condition.

Mrs. Sharma comes from the district of Thoubal in the Imphal valley, while Mrs. Singson’s family lived in the Kangpokpi district in Kuki-Majority after their displacement after the outbreak of ethnic violence in May 2023.
“We learned from the media news that at least 40 people survived the accident. We hope the crew members are among the survivors,” said Sharma family member.
