Two members of a family were killed and five others sustained serious injuries after their car met with an accident on Outer Ring Road (ORR) near Pocharam in Sangareddy district on Saturday evening.
The deceased have been identified as Sai Mounika (36) and B. Naveen Raju (30). The injured, including Mounika’s husband Hari Prasad and a child, were taken to a private hospital in Patancher, where they are undergoing treatment.
According to officials at the Patancher police station, the family had earlier visited the Nehru Zoological Park and were returning towards Bowrampet around 6 pm when the car reportedly went off the ORR and hit a barricade, killing two on the spot. The exact cause of the accident is not yet known. The police reached the spot soon after receiving the information and shifted the bodies for post-mortem examination.
As of 11:30 p.m., police said no formal complaint had been received in connection with the incident.
