Two passengers were killed and about 50 were injured when the two-hard buses from Bihar to Delhi overturned and plunged into a ditch on the Lucknow-Agra motorway in the Saifai area in Uttar Prades at the beginning of Thursday (June 26, 2025).
The accident occurred near the village of Mandi when a quick bus lost control and tried to overtake the truck
Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP) Brijesh Kumar Srivastava said the accident caused panic among passengers. Passers -by in other vehicles informed about the security of the police and motorways.
“A joint rescue operation was launched, saved by imprisoned passengers from the bus. The injuries were taken by an ambulance to the nearby Saifai Medical College Hospital for treatment while the deceased’s bodies were moved to the morgue,” SSP said.
Two deceased were identified as Shaidida (22), Bardah inhabitants in Nepal, and Manoj Kumar (52) from the Rampura Deha in Bihar’s Darraga.
The bus carried around 80 passengers.
