Two people were injured after a part of a pedestrian staircase attached to the overpass Fatehnagar on Monday. According to the police, one person suffered serious injuries, while the other escaped minor injuries.
Ravi Shankar, a worker from Chhattisgarh, who worked in Nampally, was in place at the time of the incident. Inspector Sanathnagar said to Srinivasul that the overpass, nearly 40 years, had its entry blocked, but Ravi allegedly entered the area to consume alcohol. The police suspect that rainwater absorption could weaken the structure, which caused it to collapse.
