The inter-rigid thief, identified as 22-year-old Chiranjeevi, allegedly participated in seven cases of theft, including six below the borders of the police commissioner Karimnagar, and one in the Nizamabad district was arrested on Monday by the Karimnagar Police.
The police also arrested another person identified as Bangaru Narasayya (44) for the alleged purchase of stolen gold and silver ornaments from the accused.
The arrested duo comes from the Nizamabad district, the police said.
Police renewed stolen assets, including 18 gold ornaments to the toola and 164 silver ornaments, in addition to RS 1 lakh in cash, mobile phone and car from the accused.
Police Commissioner Karimnagar Gush Alam appreciated the joint team of police staff and Sleuths Central Crime Station (CCS) for their coordinated efforts to charge the international thief.
