The police along with the bomb squad conducted searches at two hotels near Kapila Theertham in Tirupati on Monday (December 1, 2025) following an email threat. Police quickly launched operations after receiving information that an email had been sent to Raj Park and Pai Viceroy hotels. It was later confirmed to be a hoax.
The hotel management filed a complaint that they received a threatening email from an unknown email at 10:47 a.m. on Monday morning, claiming that RDX IEDs were placed on the hotel premises. The email claimed involvement of LTTE TOSIS along with Karachi ISI Cells to divert attention allegedly from the Jaffar Sadiq Meth case.
Bomb Squad DSP M. Ramakrishna immediately formed two teams headed by ASI Ramesh and E. Peeraiah, each team had three members and a sniffer dog. Both teams conducted checks in all rooms, dustbins, flower pots, vehicles, kitchens, food stores and questioned guests and suspicious persons. However, no suspicious object was found at either location.
Speaking to The Hindu, Mr. Peeraiah said, “Over the last one and a half years, we have been receiving many fake bomb threats from unidentified persons claiming to be from Chennai and Coimbatore in Tamil Nadu and some from Maharashtra. At least five to six times the same hotels have received threatening emails. After a delay, they received such a 10-month threat.”
