Commissioner Guntur Municipal Corporation (GMC) Puli Srinivasulus suspended two employees, a record assistant S. Nagesware Rao and Secretary of Hygiene Y. Thyagaraju, accusation of counterfeiting and negligence.
On Tuesday’s official statement, the Commissioner stated that Nagesware Rao, working in the GMC Circle office, created a commissioner’s signature and issued a false name letter by J. Sundar Rao of Vijayawady after collecting 4.4 GBP Lakh.
A deputy commissioner who acted on the complaint of Sundary Rao made an investigation that confirmed that Nagesware Rao devised a letter and illegally received money. On the basis of the report, RAO was immediately suspended from the service, the Commissioner said.
In the next incident, Y. Thyagaraju, the secretary of hygiene at the Secretariat of the Department, found guilty of negligence in solving 45 public complaints related to hygienic questions. Although he could not solve them, he noted them as solved.
Mr. Srinivasul stressed that GMC administration will not tolerate counterfeiting, corruption or negligence. He reiterated that employees had to resolve public complaints responsibly and warned that strict disciplinary measures would be taken against those who ignore their duties.
