Two fishermen dead, one missing after boat capsizes in Nellore

In a tragic incident, two fishermen died and another went missing after their boat capsized due to a storm while fishing near Tatichetlapalem beach in SPSR Nellore constituency.

According to sources, the deceased have been identified as Tuppili Balamurali (55) and Kumari Govindu (44) of Alicharla Bangarupalem village in Bogolu mandal of the district.

Agriculture Minister K. Atchannaidu asked about the incident and expressed grief over the death of fishermen. At the same time, he expressed his condolences to the bereaved family. “The state government assures that the affected families of fishermen will be supported in every way. We are constantly aware of the situation and are giving instructions to the MRO and district DFOs,” he said in a statement.

The minister ordered officials to launch a massive search for the missing fisherman. He directed the officials to provide immediate assistance to the affected families. Officials informed the minister that six fishermen had gone fishing in three boats. Fishermen who go fishing in the sea are advised to be vigilant.

Similarly, MA&UD Minister Ponguru Narayana also expressed shock over the accident. Immediately reacting to the incident, he spoke to local MLA Krishna Reddy and officials concerned over phone to inquire about the details of the accident.

Mr. Narayana assured that the state government would stand by the affected families and support them during this difficult time.
