
Four persons, including two excise tax officers, were arrested by the Thadiyittapapapapapaplamba Police on the rural limits Ernaculam in Kerala for charging the robbery and attacking 12 May around 12:30 in the morning
Of the two excise tax officers, one was identified as Salim Yousuf, a preventive officer connected to the Kunnathunad consumer circle, and the other Sidharth, a civil consumer officer who was released from the ALUVA 6th May 6. The other two were reportedly “antisocial elements”.
Officials of the consumer department department said both officers were suspended until the investigation.
The accused allegedly robbed 56,000 GBP and four mobile phones worth around 20 000 GBP, from the rooms of migrating workers in the building near the post office in the village of Vazhakulam. The accused allegedly attacked migrant workers.
According to the first information report, he knocked on the door of one Johir Islam, 25 years, originally from the Morigaon district in Assam, and stole 28,000 GBP, which he held under the mattress. Then they reportedly robbed 15,000 GBP, 6,000 ₹, 4,000 and 3,000 GBP from the neighboring rooms of other migrants.
The defendants were booked under Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhit sections 309 (4) (robbery), 331 (6) (House Trepass) and 3 (5) (a criminal act performed by several persons to support the common plan of all).
