
Officials of the Anti-Narcotics Branch of the Central Crime Branch on Wednesday nabbed two drug smugglers in separate cases. They arrested two foreign nationals who were allegedly selling drugs and seized narcotics worth ₹5.5 million from them.
Acting on a tip-off, a team of officials raided a spot in Hebbagodi and arrested two foreign nationals who were allegedly selling drugs.
When questioned, the duo allegedly confessed that they had come to Bengaluru on a business visa to sell drugs. Based on their confession, police recovered 1.4 kg of MDMA crystals worth about ₹ 2.5 million and ₹ 42,800 in cash from them. The accused have been arrested under the NDPS Act and further investigation is underway to trace their source and network.
Another incident
In another case, CCB officials, acting on a tip-off from the customs department, conducted checks at a foreign post office in Chamarajapet and recovered three kilos of hydroganj worth ₹3 million. The drugs were hidden in packages of cookies and chocolate originating from Thailand, officials said.
A case has been registered under the NDPS Act at KG Nagar police station limits and further investigation is underway to trace the people who were supposed to receive the drug parcel.
