Two people were killed and three others injured in a dump truck accident near Gundlupet in Chamarajanagar district on Saturday.
The accident took place near Madapatna Gate and the deceased were identified as Basheer, 53, and Nasima, 43. The injured were Mohammed Rafi, Jasheer and Azim, who were taken to a Mysuru hospital.
The dump truck was loaded with jelly stones and was traveling from Gundlupet to Begur when it collided with an oncoming car. The truck driver is absconding and the Begur police have registered a case and are investigating.
