On Monday, two people collapsed on the bridge’s beam insufficiently a construction above the Achencoil River in Chennithala near Mavelikar.
The deceased were identified as binu, 42, Thrikunnapuzha and Raghav Karthik, 24, from Kallumala.
The beam of the shrine of the shrine collapsed around 13:00, seven workers allegedly fell into the water. Five of them managed to swim to safety. Some of them suffered minor injuries. The bridge, as soon as it is completed, attaches Chennithal and Hittikulangara Gram Panchayats.
The Minister of Public Works PA Mohammad Riyas expressed his sorrow over the accident. The Vigilance Public Works Department was ordered to investigate the incident. Was instructed to present a message within three days. The Minister stated that the report would be examined and the necessary steps would be carried out, the statement of the Minister official said.
