
Two people died and 32 were injured after the situation similar to Stampede developed in the Temple of Barabanki in Uttar Pradesh on Monday.
The incident occurred in the Avsaaneshwar Temple in the Haidergarh area, when the devotees gathered at the Temple for “Jalabhishek” (offering water as a ritual) on the third Monday of the Holy Moon of Skravan.
According to PTI, the officials were saying that Prashant, 22, from the village of Mubarakpura under the Lonikatra police station, and another thirty -year -old lost their injuries while undergoing treatment in Triveliganj Community Health Center (CHC).
A total of 10 injured persons were reportedly brought to Triveliganj CHC, five of whom were handed over to higher medical centers due to their critical condition. Meanwhile, 26 wounded devotees are treated in Haidergarh, and one of them was assigned to advanced care due to serious injuries.
The Chief Minister UTTAR Pradesh Yogi Adityanath took the incident and expressed condolences to surviving families. “The main minister ordered the officers to immediately reach the seats and speed up the auxiliary work. The main minister gave instructions for proper treatment of the injured,” the Chief Minister (CMO) said in his statement.
What led to StamPede at the Barabanki temple?
The district judge Shashank Tripathi said the incident occurred when a living electric wire, damaged by monkeys, fell on Monday on Monday. The electric current spread through the tin shed as the wire fell, launched panic and strike in the temple.
“The devotees offered prayers when the monkey jumped on the electric wire, causing it to fall on the shed. This led to the electric current through the structure. The injured medical treatment is underway.
District and police officials have reached the seats and are working on the situation, PTI reported. Investigations are underway to determine the exact cause of the incident.
The devotees later restored their worship in the temple.
