During the tragic incident, two children drowned on Friday evening in a village tank on the edge of the Yadamarri Mandal headquarters. The duo allegedly embarked on swimming water body, but could not come out after it was stuck in the mud.
The police said the deceased was identified as Sidda (11) and Akhilesh (13), the inhabitants of the village of Tummindapal, near the water unit. The Yadamarri police registered the case and moved the bodies to the District Hospital in Chittoor for Postmort.
