On Sunday (August 31, 2025), the Chittoor Municipal Police detained two members of an interstate gang involved in chain sought and gained a stolen property worth £ 25, including 192 grams of gold and two motorcycles.

The SP created a special team with a representative of SP (Chittoor) T. Sainath, who performed searching across Andra Pradesh and Tamil Nadu. “Through intensive supervision and technical analysis, our team identified suspects as inhabitants of Tamil Nadu. He acted on reliable information about the arrival of the gang in Chittoor, two of which were captured in Chamantipurama and seizures were made on their confession,” Mr. Chandola said.
The accused were identified as R. Amsayusan (26) of Mettupalayam and Mohammed Pitha (25) from the Dindigul district in Tamil Nadu. They are suspicious that they are part of the nationwide chain network, active during festivals and mass rally, especially focused on border areas to facilitate easy escape.
