A 23-year-old woman was allegedly raped by a man identified as Jagadish at Chodedibba in Eluru town in the wee hours of December 3.
Jagadish and his friend Bhavani Kumar then allegedly assaulted the victim and threatened her not to disclose the crime.
Following her complaint, the twin-city Eluru police registered a case and launched a search for the accused, Deputy Superintendent of Police D Sravan Kumar said on Friday.
