Two associates of a foreign terrorist agent were arrested in Mohali, foiling a plot to target critical public infrastructure in the area.
Punjab Director General of Police Gaurav Yadav said on Thursday (June 4, 2026) that “In a major breakthrough against cross-border terror networks, State Special Operations Command (#SSOC), SAS Nagar has arrested two associates of a foreign terrorist agent from #Mohali.
The operation led to the recovery of an Improvised Explosive Device (IED), resulting in the foiling of a plot to target a critical public infrastructure in SAS Nagar (Mohali), Na X said.
The action averted a potentially catastrophic threat to public safety and security, the DGP said.
“Further investigations are underway to uncover the entire terrorist network, including handlers, associates and all links involved in the conspiracy,” he said.
