Two acres probably for the Anke Gowda library project in Mandya

Deputy Commissioner Mandya Kumar on Wednesday inspected the sites proposed for allotment of around two acres of land for setting up a library and knowledge center under the Anke Gowda Jnana Pratishthana Book House, founded by Padma Shri awardee Anke Gowda, as part of a measure to promote reading culture and widen access to knowledge resources.
The Deputy Commissioner visited the residential layout being developed by the Karnataka Housing Board at Elechakanahalli in Mandya taluk and inspected the civic amenities (CA) sites that could be considered for the project. During the visit, he reviewed the availability, suitability and infrastructure requirements of the identified sites and held discussions with the officials on the feasibility of allotting land for the knowledge centre.
Later Dr. Kumar visited Anke Gowda Jnana Pratishthan House of Books on Pandavapura–Nagamangala road and interacted with Mr. Anke Gowda. He discussed the institution’s activities, public facilities, outreach initiatives and plans for future expansion.
The proposed allotment of land aims to support the growth of the institution and strengthen its efforts to spread knowledge among the public. Dr. Kumar said the district administration will take necessary steps to promote reading habits, create a conducive learning environment for the youth and improve public access to educational and knowledge resources.
