The Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) on Monday (June 1, 2026) recreated the sequence of events in the Twisha Sharma death case by using a dummy to take her husband Samarth Singh and mother-in-law retired judge Giribal Singh to their residence in Bhopal, where the 33-year-old model-suspect actor was found dead under strange circumstances.
Several CBI officers along with forensic experts arrived at Twisha’s house with the two accused and also a dummy of the victim’s weight and made them recreate the events on it.
Footage from the terrace of the house where Twisha was found hanged on the night of May 12 showed investigators using a mannequin and asking the mother-son duo how they found her and the events that followed, such as how they removed her from her garter. Cops will verify the accused’s versions with other evidence collected in the case such as CCTV footage as well as a timeline of events.
While her husband told investigators she ended her life at 10.20pm, Twisha’s mother Rekha Sharma claimed she was on the phone with her daughter until 10.05pm, during which Mr Singh could be heard shouting at his wife.
Both the accused have been sent to CBI custody for five days ending June 2 by a local court. The CBI took over the case from the Bhopal police on May 25 on the recommendation of the state government. Twisha’s family alleged various procedural errors and institutional bias by the local police and authorities.
Meanwhile, members of the Twishy family and their neighbors took out a protest march at their residential society in Noida, Uttar Pradesh on Sunday (May 31, 2026) evening.
The family accused her husband and mother-in-law of mental harassment, domestic violence and dowry demands during the five months of their marriage, while claiming that she was “murdered by them”.

Currently, the CBI is investigating the case on the allegation of dowry death and exposing her to cruelty.
While the report of the second post-mortem conducted by the expert team of AIIMS Delhi on the direction of the Madhya Pradesh High Court is still awaited, the first post-mortem conducted by the doctors of AIIMS Bhopal stated that the cause of death was “asphyxia due to antemortem hanging by ligature”. The report also revealed that six other pre-mortem injuries were found on Twisha’s body.
The CBI had told the Supreme Court on May 27 that the accused had not given any explanation for these injuries.
