In the middle of speculation that actor Vijay’s Tamilaga vetri kazhagam (TVK) may be in line with AIADMK before the elections to the assembly of 2026, if the BJP remains outside the coalition, the party excluded this option.
The Secretary General of TVK (propaganda and politics) KG Arunraj told Hindu that the party did not take into account the link with AIADMK, regardless of the position of BJP and the Secretary -General of AIADMK Edapppadi K. Palaniswami’s renewed appeal to equally -minded parties to connect against the DMK decision.
He said TVK entered the political arena to announce a change in Tamil Nadu politics. “People Tamil Nadu are disappointed with both DMK and AIADMK and are looking for a meaningful and trustworthy alternative,” he said.
Asked if TVK was trying to stand up better than AIADMK to oppose the ruling party to wrap the voices of anti-DMK, he said:
Regarding the revival of the AIADMK-BJP alliance in April this year, he said that there was no enthusiasm among the workers of both parties. According to him, AIADMK workers felt that the binding was “forced”.
Dr. Arunraj said that public dissatisfaction with the DMK government has cooked for some time and was increasingly visible. “Every day of the DMK government, it increases to anti-noncumbents. The government lacks any long-term vision of Tamil Nadu growth,” he said.
Other sources in TVK stated that the party had conducted a nationwide survey that assessed its organizational power and public support. They described these findings as “encouraging”.
“TVK support grows before our party president set out on his tour. As soon as he hits the ground, we expect a significant shift in our favor,” one of the sources added.
