Tamilaga Vettri Kazhagam (TVK) President C. Joseph Vijay stated in his election affidavit that he has ₹404.58 million in movable assets and ₹220.15 million in immovable assets. He also declared ₹15.51 crore in movable assets and ₹2.5 crore in immovable assets in the name of his wife Sangeetha.
Mr. Vijay filed his nomination for the Perambur Assembly constituency contest at Dr. Govt Arts College on Monday (March 30, 2026) before starting his campaign. Ambedkar (Autonomous) in Vyasarpadi.
Dropped out of Loyola
Regarding his educational background, Mr. Vijay stated that he completed Xth Class in 1989 and XII. class in 1991 through private study under the Tamil Nadu State Board and left Loyola College in 1992 while pursuing a B.A. He also said that there are no criminal proceedings against him.
According to his affidavit, movable assets include 883 grams of gold, five cars and a two-wheeler in his name and 3132 grams of gold and 134.91 carats of diamonds in his wife’s name. He has ₹2 lakh in cash while his wife has ₹1 lakh.
He extended loans to several individuals and companies, including ₹3.02 million to his father SA Chandrasekhar; ₹87.12 lakh to his mother Shobha Chandrasekhar; ₹12.6 million to his husband; ₹8.78 lakh to his son Jason Sanjay; and ₹ 4.6 lakh to his daughter Divya Sasha, according to the affidavit.
Apart from correspondent Vijay Vidyashram and CEO and trustee of four trusts, he also declared his occupation as self-employed. His sources of income are self-employment, interest and rent from property.
