The Tamilaga Vettri Kazhagam (TVK) on Sunday expressed concern over the death of a youth whose decomposed body was recovered from a private quarry at Natham near Dindigul and called for a thorough probe into the incident.
In a statement, the party said the circumstances of the death were “deeply disturbing” and raised questions about safety and accountability.
The party also pointed to reports linking the quarry to the son of a ruling DMK MLA and said the case should not be dismissed as an accident or suicide without proper investigation.
By asking a series of questions, TVK sought to clarify how the youth died, whether safety standards were followed in the quarry and whether there was any attempt to cover up the incident. The recovery of the body in a decomposed state raised suspicion, he said.
The party urged the state government and the police to conduct a transparent investigation and ensure that those responsible are brought to justice, regardless of their political background.
