VIZIANAGARAM/SRIKAKULAM
The Telugu Desam Party (TDP) high command seems to have zeroed in on the Turpu Kapu community to gain political mileage ahead of the local body elections and offer key posts to Vizianagaram district leaders.
The party has selected Gajapathinagaram leader Gantyad Sridevi as a member of the Politburo, its highest policy-making body. It made Vizianagaram MP Kalisetti Appal Naidu the national official spokesperson and suggested him to publicize the party’s views in New Delhi and other places. Cheepurupalli MLA Kala Venkata Rao, who earlier held the post of TDP state president, was given the post of vice president and his son Rammallik Naidu was accommodated as state executive secretary in the party’s new body. Senior leaders Karrothu Narasinga Rao and Suvvada Vanajakshmi were given the opportunity to work as state secretaries of the party.
