Tulsi Gabbard Claims Anthony Fauci Supported Wuhan Research, Suppressed Evidence of COVID Lab Leak | Today’s news

Outgoing US Director of National Intelligence Tulsi Gabbard has released a series of declassified documents and communications that she says reveal former White House medical adviser Anthony Fauci’s role in funding coronavirus research at China’s Wuhan Institute of Virology, influencing intelligence assessments of the origins of COVID-19 and misleading Congress under oath.

The disclosures were made on what Gabbard described as her last day in office. She said the documents were revealed during an annual declassification review by the Office of the Director of National Intelligence (ODNI).

Gabbard: “It’s Time You Know the Truth”

In announcing his dismissal, Gabbard alleged that Fauci had directed millions of dollars in US taxpayer funding to research the bat coronavirus benefit at a laboratory in Wuhan.

“Today, on my last day as Director of National Intelligence, I am releasing never-before-seen communications and documents revealing how Dr. Fauci provided millions of American taxpayer dollars to fund research of dangerous benefit at the Wuhan lab, worked with politicized elements within the intelligence community to suppress the truth about his actions, and hid the origin of the virus from the lab in Congress. 2024. It’s time for you to know the truth.”

ODNI claimed the newly released records contained communications between Fauci and intelligence officials regarding the origins of COVID-19 and the handling of information related to the pandemic.

Accusations of intelligence manipulation

According to Gabbard, the documents indicate Fauci maintained close ties with intelligence officials and played multiple roles as a researcher, adviser and public spokesman during the pandemic.

She claimed that scientists funded through the National Institute of Allergy and Infectious Diseases (NIAID) helped shape intelligence assessments that were later used publicly to challenge the lab leak theory.

“The American people deserve transparency, truth and accountability.”

“The tactics used to hide the truth are straight from the playbook of the deep state: politicized self-serving leaders like Dr. Fauci covered up their own wrongdoing and abuse of power, manipulated intelligence, lied to Congress, and undermined a duly elected president.”

ODNI further alleged that intelligence whistleblowers reported facing retribution, marginalization and career setbacks after supporting assessments that favored the lab leak hypothesis.

Questions about Congressional testimony

One of the central allegations concerns Fauci’s 2024 testimony before a select House subcommittee on the coronavirus pandemic.

According to ODNI, the correspondence contained in the newly declassified material contradicts Fauci’s sworn testimony when he was asked whether he communicated with intelligence agencies about virus research before, during or after the pandemic.

The report claims Fauci replied, “As far as I know about COVID.”

Gabbard’s office says the newly released memos raise questions about the accuracy of that statement.

Sorry to Biden

The disclosure also renewed attention on former President Joe Biden’s decision to grant Fauci a preemptive pardon during his final hours in office in January 2025.

Biden explained the move at the time: “These are exceptional circumstances and I can’t do anything in good conscience.”

He added: “The baseless and politically motivated investigation will wreak havoc on the lives, safety and financial security of the targeted individuals and their families.”

Biden emphasized that the pardon should not be interpreted as evidence of wrongdoing.

“The issuance of these pardons should not be mistaken for an admission that any individual has committed any wrongdoing.”

The Fauci-related release follows another declassification initiative announced by Gabbard on June 12, in which ODNI claimed to have uncovered evidence of US government funding for more than 120 biological laboratories in more than 30 countries. Gabbard claimed that information about the facilities was withheld from the public.

At the time, she said, “Politicians, so-called health professionals like Dr. Fauci and entities on the Biden administration’s national security team have lied to the American people about the existence of biolabs funded and supported by the United States.”

Gabbard prepares to leave office

Gabbard previously announced that she would step down as director of National Intelligence effective June 30 after her husband, Abraham Williams, was diagnosed with a rare form of bone cancer.

In her resignation statement, she wrote: “At this time I must step down from public service to stand by his side and fully support him in this battle.”

The latest revelation is likely to intensify the debate over the origins of COVID-19 and the role of US agencies in research related to the pandemic. However, the allegations made public by Gabbard remain ODNI’s claims and have not been tried in court. Fauci has previously denied allegations that he funded dangerous research that sparked the pandemic, and no criminal charges have been filed against him.
