Now Makkal leader Munnetra Kazhagam (AMMK) TV Dhinakan, Wednesday (September 3, 2025), his party announced at night by NDA in Tamil Nadu.
Only two days ago he shared his disappointment of the persistent neglect of his party since BJP revived his election ties with AIADMK. It is important that his decision came the day when the key election strategist BJP and Interior Minister AMIT Shah at the Internal Meeting of the party sought to apply relationships.
Recently, the former main Minister O. Panneerselvam also felt disappointed by BJP and interrupted ties with NDA.
Mr. Dhinakaran spoke to reporters after participating in the party’s marriage party in Kattumannarkovil and said that he had maintained patience over the years only to ensure that part of the alliance was formed. But after he realized there was no progress, AMMK decided to leave the alliance for elections to the assembly of 2026.
“Betrayal is dancing with abandonment,” he said, adding that the AMMK cadre could no longer carry it. The party decided to follow its own way and at the same time support the cadre sentiments. AMMK explains its attitude (on the Alliance) in December, he said.
Mr. Dhinakaran reiterated that AMMK unconditionally joined the NDA during the parliamentary elections in 2024 to ensure that Narendra Modi returned as the prime minister for the third time. But the upcoming elections of the Assembly in 2026 will decide on the fate of Tamil Nadu, he said.

Mr. Amit Shah on Wednesday (September 3, 2025) met with the main group of the State Party units in his residence in Nový Delhi and urged them not to comment on tests such as the differences between Aiadmk and Mr. Panneerselvam and Mr. Dhinakar. In Chennai, Mr. Annamalai said he committed himself to participate in the wedding and therefore could not travel to Delhi.
“The high command explained that none of the state unit or local management had to add to any comments to questions such as OPS, Mr. Dhinakaran, or even the situation within the PMK (theft between the founder of S. Ramadoss and his son Anbumani).
The basic group was asked to identify assembly chairs, where BJP could attack AIADMK in 2026 in connection with AIADMK, although no number was provided. “In addition, we were asked to organize regional conferences, set up committees at the level of stalls and what is important, set up local coordination committees with alliance partners,” said the source. There were no discussions about the questions to be raised in the elections, added sources.
