Padmavathi awards were presented to 32 women employees from various departments of Tirumala Tirupati Devasthanams (TTD) for their dedicated service during International Women’s Day celebrations at Mahathi Auditorium in Tirupati on Monday (March 9, 2026). They were honored with a shawl, a five gram silver dollar and a memento of Goddess Sri Padmavathi.
TTD also felicitated 78 women employees who are going to retire next year and presented them with shawls and mementos. TTD Board Member Panabaka Lakshmi DRDO Director General (Production Coordination and Service Interaction) Dr. Chandrika Kaushik and Visionary Digital Empowerment Coach Dr. Asleshah Edala were the special guests on the occasion.
Dr. Chandrika Kaushik said that women must prioritize themselves to bring positive change in society. She said if family members share the responsibility, the burden on women will be reduced. Sharing housework and childcare among family members can help women lead a balanced life.
Ms. Ashlesha, CEO of New Delhi-based MitraVaak and Digital Mahila Private Limited, said women have tremendous energy and strength. She stated that the respect given to women in Indian culture is an inspiration to the world.
“Women are the foundation of the Indian family system. Just as the Vedas are sacred to the scholars, the Grihalakshmi (woman of the house) is equally sacred and important to the family,” said TTD JEO (Education and Health) Dr. A. Sarath and added that women play a very important role in building families, developing society and contributing to the progress of the nation.
