Tirumala Tirupati Devasthanams (TTD) donated 20 handheld breath analyzers to the Tirupati Police in an effort to control the menace of drunk driving and increase the safety of visiting pilgrims.
TTD Executive Director Anil Kumar Singhal formally handed over the breathalyzers to Superintendent of Police L. Subbarayudu and the traffic police team at his chambers on Sunday.
After learning about the functioning of breathalyzers from the police, Mr. Singhal termed it as an effective intervention in preventing road accidents and enforcing road traffic rules.
Mr. Subbarayudu informed that each of the 20 aids would be used in Tirumala and Alipiri police limits, which were usually the visiting pilgrims, while the remaining 12 would be used in other parts of Tirupati.
TTD Senior Director of Vigilance and Security KV Muralikrishna, Additional Superintendent of Police Ravi Manoharachary, Deputy Superintendents K. Ramakrishnachary (Traffic) and Chandrasekhar (Armed Reserve) were present.
