Tirumala Tirupati Devasthanams (TTD) has decided to keep five to ten beds ready in its free dispensaries for devotees who fall ill or face any emergency.
TTD Joint Executive Director (Health and Education) A. Sharath on Wednesday visited the free dispensary at Tholappa Garden near Tiruchanur Sri Padmavati Ammavari Temple and also the first aid center at Alipiri Padala Mandapam.
After inspecting the infrastructure available in both the facilities, he said that the seven first aid centers and five dispensaries currently managed by the temple management would be upgraded to accommodate five to ten beds to meet any emergency.
While 100-150 outpatients avail the medical services in Tiruchanur daily, Mr. Sharath wants the quality of free medical care to improve further. “Even a small amount of medical assistance during emergencies can instill immense confidence among patients,” he said.
During his visit to the Alipiri First Aid Centre, Mr. Sharath instructed the officials to maintain sufficient stock of essential medicines keeping in mind the needs of trekking devotees.
