The Tirumala Tirupati Devasthanams (TTD) on Saturday approved a budget of ₹ 5,456.26 crore for the financial year 2026-27.
The temple’s ‘hundi’ collection topped the revenue chart with an estimated income of ₹1,880 crore, an increase of ₹142 crore over the 2025-26 fiscal.
Although interest income came second with an estimated revenue of ₹1,205 crore, it was ₹45 crore less than in FY2025-26.
Other major revenues included ₹650 million from prasadam sales, up ₹10 million from 2025–26; Darshan and Arjitha Sevas – ₹445 million; Accommodation and Kalyana Mandapams – ₹173 crore; Kalyanakatta (tonsuring) – ₹ 175 million; Loans and Advances to Employees, EMDs, Bonds – ₹ 81.89 crore; Certificate of Trust – ₹140 crore; Income from rent, electricity and water – ₹74 million; Publications – ₹ 31 crore; and ₹108 million through other income, including sales of incense sticks, toll gates and educational institutions.
On the expenditure side, a large chunk of ₹ 1,859.75 crore was allocated to human resource payments. Other expenditure was as follows: Purchase of material – ₹974.50 million; Corpus and other investments ₹ 700.00 crore; Technical capital payments – ₹ 475 million; Non-Technical Capital Payments – ₹ 81 crore; Engineering Repairs and Maintenance – ₹ 185 crore; Building Management Services – ₹ 100 crore; Non-Technical Maintenance Payments – ₹ 16 crore, Dharma Prachara Parishad – ₹ 127 crore (increase of ₹ 29 crore compared to FY 2025–26); Grants to other institutions – ₹193 million (increase of ₹38 million); Temple Self-Service – ₹95 crore (up by ₹73 crore); Loans and Advances to Employees, EMDs, Bonds – ₹62.63 crore; Pensions and Gratuities – ₹ 75 crore; Contributions to CGF, EAF&AWF – ₹55 million; and other payments, including fair and festival expenses, insurance, taxes, professional fees, – ₹ 163.77 crore.
While the opening cash and bank balances stood at ₹493.37 million, the closing cash and bank balances were pegged at ₹293.61 million.
