Thalassémie and Sickle Cell Society (TSCS) teamed up with the Fernandez hospital on the opening of prenatal diagnostic testing for steam identified as thalassemia or anemia of sickle cells. Testing will be offered in the prenatal diagnostic center in Kamala Hospital and Research Center, unity of TSC in Hyderabad.
This initiative is part of the wider TSCS goal to eliminate the birth of children with thalassymia of the main and sickle cell anemia by 2035. If both partners are carriers, there is a 25% risk in each pregnancy that their child will be affected. In these cases, the new equipment will allow early prenatal diagnostic testing, allowing early decisions for risk families, the release.
