Trump’s new push for his White House ballroom – ‘DronePort’ to protect Washington from ‘death, destruction’ | Today’s news
Weeks after United States District Judge Richard Leon ruled against Donald Trump’s authority to build a ballroom in the White House, the US president has made another push to build his own ballroom. Donald Trump has now built a ‘DronePort’ structure above the White House ballroom, which he says will protect the capital for years to come.
“The White House Ballroom DronePort may be the most sophisticated in the world! It will protect our nation’s capital, Washington, DC, long into the future,” said Donald Trump in a post on Truth Social.
Donald Trump also said that a district judge will be held responsible for the “death and destruction” caused to the country if his ballroom is not completed on time.
“Judge Richard Leon should stop playing games with America’s security! If anything happens, he will be responsible for the death and destruction caused to our country. He has already caused enough trouble by allowing the release and disclosure of “Top Secret” information based on a ridiculous lawsuit brought by a highly litigious woman (a serial accuser!) whose “walks” she believes will be disrupted by any woman who will absolutely need no new structure – V Desperate! he said.
“With the advent of highly sophisticated and powerful modern weapons, we can no longer defend Washington, DC with only rifles and pistols. This ridiculous lawsuit must be dismissed IMMEDIATELY!” concluded.
District Judge Richard Leon, appointed by former President George W. Bush, ruled in April that Trump lacked the legal authority to build the ballroom without congressional approval. Leon issued an injunction stopping the “above-ground construction of the planned ballroom,” but his order was quickly stayed by an appeals court. Construction continued.
The effort to build a ballroom intensified after the shooting outside the White House. After the shooting, the U.S. Department of Justice again asked a federal judge to lift an injunction delaying progress on the ballroom project for better security.
The Justice Department said in a five-page court filing that the incident underscored the critical need for “the highest level, state-of-the-art security in the White House, including the ballroom,” adding that it was vital to national security. He also requests the dismissal of the lawsuit challenging the project.
The court filing said, “This is a terrible, extremely damaging case for the United States of America and all it stands for!
