A new report claimed Monday that US President Donald Trump wrote a disturbing letter to Norwegian Prime Minister Jonas Gahr Støre, saying he “no longer feels obligated to think purely about peace” because “the country (Norway) has decided not to give me the Nobel Peace Prize for stopping 8 plus wars.”
Livemint could not verify the authenticity of the letter.
The letter was reportedly delivered by National Security Council officials to several European ambassadors in Washington. A News Hours reporter contacted X to report that he had obtained the text of the letter from “multiple officials”. Several other media outlets, such as RT News and PBS news, also reported on Trump’s letter.
What did Trump’s letter to the Norwegian prime minister say?
According to a News Hours reporter’s post on X and a copy of the letter shared by RT news, Trump’s letter to Jonas linked his claims about Greenland to not being awarded the Nobel Peace Prize.
The purported letter stated: “Dear Jonas: Since your country has decided not to award me the Nobel Peace Prize for stopping 8 Wars PLUS, I no longer feel obligated to think purely about peace, even though it will always prevail, but now I can think about what is good and right for the United States of America.
“Denmark can’t protect this land from Russia or China and why does it even have a ‘property right’? There are no written documents; it’s just that a ship landed there hundreds of years ago, but we also had ships there,” the letter said.
In the NATO message, the letter added: “I have done more for NATO than any other person since its inception and now NATO should do something for the United States. The world is not safe unless we have complete and total control of Greenland. Thank you! President DJT.”
“It’s time” – Trump told Greenland
Earlier in a TRUTH social media post, Trump wrote: “NATO has been telling Denmark for 20 years that ‘you have to get the Russian threat out of Greenland’.”
“Unfortunately, Denmark has been unable to do anything about it. Now is the time and it will be done!!!,” Trump wrote.
Last week, President Trump was also asked if he would pull out of NATO if it didn’t help him get Greenland. According to a video shared by ‘Forbes Breaking News,’ Trump then warned: ‘We’ll see. NATO is negotiating with us in Greenland; We need Greenland very much for national security.”
“If we don’t have it, we have a very big hole in terms of national security, especially when it comes to the Gold Dome,” Trump said.
