
The evaluation of US President Donald Trump’s approval was 40%, which, according to a new Reuters/IPSOS survey, marked the lowest point of its second term. A one-off decline of 41% in mid-July reflects the persistent concern of the public about its treatment of the economy and immigration-DVA key pillars of its Presidency.
The survey conducted for three days and closed on Monday, explored 1,023 American adults and revealed a deeply divided voter. While 83% of Republicans support Trump’s performance, only 3% of Democrats will approve. Among the independent, approval cost about one third, underlines the polarized political environment to the final section of the term.
Mixed reviews of key questions
Despite the overall decline, Trump gained modest support in the approval of his economic management, with 38% expressing support – in the previous survey of 35%. As far as immigration is concerned, approval also recorded a slight increase of 43%, 41%.
