The US government has issued a scary rebuilding of the University of Harvard and accused the school of not dealing with uncontrollable anti -Semitism on the campus and warning that continuing violations can become an institution of all federal funding.
Notification sent to President Harvard Dr. Alan Garber describes in detail the extensive findings from the investigation of the Civil Rights Office (OCR).
Finding: “intentionally indifferent” to anti -Semitic harassment
According to the letter, Harvard was “in a violent violation of the head of VI VI Act on Civil Rights at the Ministry of Health and Human Services of the United States”, which prohibits discrimination based on race, color or national origin.
“The enclosed violation announcement in detail states a fact that supports the conclusion that Harvard was intentionally indifferent to in some cases and in others he was a deliberate participant in anti -Semitic harassment,” the letter said.
Investigators quoted the ubiquitous atmosphere of hostility, while Jewish and Israeli students reported attacks, harassment and fear of their physical security.
The examples include:
- Jewish students hide their religious identity and kippahs to avoid attacks.
- Circulation of images depicting the dollar character inside David’s star.
- Vandalism with stickers combining Israeli flag and swastika.
- Protests on academic soil require the genocide and denial of Jewish students access to facilities.
“Not a fair” sisciplinary process
The government criticized Harvard’s response to disturbing and threatening protests, including a multiweed camp in the heart of the campus.
While some participants were accused, “only a fraction received some discipline and none was suspended,” according to the letter.
A member of Harvard’s own leadership called the disciplinary process “not fair” and “not the right”, he states the announcement.
Inheritance of discrimination
The government letter provokes a direct connection between Harvard’s approach to the race and its inability to protect Jewish students and refers to the decision of the Supreme Court last year students for fair acceptance v. Harvard.
“Harvard keeps the regrettable distinction that it is among the most important and visible Chod’s soils for race discrimination,” the investigators wrote. “This inheritance of discrimination persists with Harvard’s continuing anti -Semitism.”
Officials argued that the university ideology of the “demographic hierarchy” supported the crisis.
“Harvard’s commitment to racial hierarchy-where is classified and assessed according to their membership in the oppressed group identity and not individual merit-enabled anti-Semitism,” the announcement said.
Historical Warning: “Disasters’ Effects”
In one of the strongest parts of the letter, the government warned that ignoring anti -Semitism of risk repeats history.
“As history has shown, the inability to face the reality of anti -Semitism can have catastrophic effects,” reads the announcement, quotes the Holocaust and describes how “(D) ISBELIF, INCRULITY and Denial … worked in favor of those who wanted to erase the Jews.”

Potential loss of all federal financing
HHS OCR stressed that Harvard’s inability to immediately, meaningful measures would cause serious fines.
“The inability to immediately introduce adequate changes will lead to the loss of all federal financial resources,” the announcement warned.
Officials added that Harvard could continue operation without federal support, suggesting that the loss of government privileges could “support the commitment to perfection”.
The notification concludes Harvard that the closed documents serve as a call for reform and a formal legal notice.
“The same defense of the law requires that all groups be protected, regardless of race or national origin,” he said.
