More than 100 US government officials, business leaders, technology executives and their spouses joined US President Donald Trump and Chinese President Xi Jinping at a state dinner at the White House on Thursday, September 24.

The guest list brought together senior figures from Washington and some of the world’s largest technology and corporate groups, including Apple, Nvidia, Microsoft, Google, Amazon, Meta, OpenAI, Tesla, SpaceX, JPMorgan, BlackRock and Blackstone, CNBC reported.

The Chinese delegation accompanying Xi and his wife, Peng Liyuan, consisted mainly of government officials. The White House said official delegations, business leaders and government officials attended the dinner.

In a toast, Xi Jinping said the talks with Trump had “added new substance to US-China relations,” according to an official translation. Trump also presented Xi with a statue of a bald eagle, CNBC reported.

The Chinese delegation included Cai Qi, a member of the Standing Committee of the Political Bureau of the Communist Party of China and Xi Jinping’s Chief of Staff; Wang Yi, member of the Central Committee of the Political Bureau of the Communist Party of China; He Lifeng, member of the Central Committee of the Political Bureau of the CPC and vice-chairman of the State Council; and Zheng Shanjie, chairman of the National Development and Reform Commission.

Also on the list were Chinese Commerce Minister Wang Wentao, Executive Vice Foreign Minister Ma Zhaoxu, Finance Minister Lan Fo’an and Chinese Ambassador to the US Xie Feng.

The dinner was also attended by Chinese representatives of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and other government offices.

Earlier, CNBC said, citing a person briefed on the preparations who was not authorized to speak on the record, that they were not aware of any Chinese companies invited to join Xi on his trip.

The evening’s entertainment was led by classical tenor Christopher Macchio, who performed at the 2025 presidential inauguration. Also scheduled to perform were musicians from the US Marine Corps and the US Army, including “The President’s Own” US Marine Band, the US Marine Drum and Bugle Corps, the US Army Chorus, and the US Army Strings.
