
US President Donald Trump said he filed a defamation of $ 15 billion against the New York Times and a lawsuit against insulting and blaming the contribution of serving as a “mouthpiece” for democrats.
In truth, Trump’s social contribution pointed to the approval of Times former presidential candidate Kamala Harris in the 2024 elections. The amount he is looking for exceeds the market capitalization of New York Times, which is currently about $ 9.65 billion.
He did not provide any other concrete examples of Times, but said that the newspaper “participated in the decade, how to lie about your favorite president (me!), My family, business, the first American movement, Maga and our nation as a whole”.
The suit is brought in Florida, Trump added. The Times did not answer immediately to the request for comment outside normal working hours.
Since returning to the Presidency, Trump has focused on other media organizations with legal steps. In July, Paramount Global reached a settlement with Trump on court proceedings, which allegedly election intervening of the company’s intelligence network, showing two different versions of 60 minutes of interview with the then President Vice Kamal Harris.
