Volvo Group plans to release up to 800 workers in three USA. The facility in the next three months due to market uncertainty and concerns for the face of President Donald Trump’s tariffs, the spokesman said on Friday. The Volvo North America said in its statement that it had been planning to release 550-800 people on their Mack Trucks in Macungia, Pennsylvania and two Volvo Group devices in Dublin, Virginia and HagerStown in Maryland.
The company, which is part of the Swedish AB Volvo, employs almost 20,000 people in North America according to its website.
Trump has increased a global trading system that has existed for more than 75 years with a plan for products from around the world. His vaccination business policy has undermined consumer and business confidence and caused economists to increase their forecasts for recession in the US.
The release of the Volvo Group is the latest reaction from the industry of cars and trucks that rotates from the Republican President’s tariffs to certain parts for which it is expected to increase the cost of production vehicles.
“Truck orders continue to be negatively influenced by the insecurity of the market for the level and demand, possible regulatory changes and the impact of tariffs,” Volvo North America spokesman said in an e-mail statement.
“We regret to do this event, but we have to reconcile production with reduced demand for our vehicles.”
