US President Donald Trump said on Saturday that he would issue an executive order that would require the voter to identify from each voter.
“The voter ID must be part of each individual vote. No exceptions! I will make a executive order for this purpose !!!,” Trump said on the social platform of truth.
“Also, no vote on mail, except those who are very ill and far from the army,” Trump added.
Trump’s statement came when he had long questioned the US election system and continues to say falsely that his loss of democratic President Joe Biden from 2020 was the result of a widespread fraud.
The President and his Republican Allies also claimed to claim large vote from non-citizens, which is illegal and rarely occurs, Reuters reported.
For years he also called on electronic voting machines, instead pushed the use of paper ballots and the number of hands – a process that election officials claim to be time -consuming, costly and much less accurate than machine computer.
At the beginning of August, Trump committed himself to issue a executive order to end the use of ballots and voting machines before the elections in mid -2026. However, federal elections are managed at state level and it is not clear whether the President should take such measures.
3 November 2026 The elections will be the first national referendum on domestic and foreign policy Trump since he returned to power in January. The Democrats will try to break the Republican grip both at the House of Representatives and the Senate to block Trump’s home agenda.
