US President Donald Trump praised India during the summit of world leaders in Egypt after a ceasefire that ended the war of Israel Hamas. When he spoke from the stage, Trump emphasized his close ties with Indian leadership without directly named Prime Minister Narendra Modi.
“India is a great country with a good friend upstairs,” Trump said.
He added that he believed that India and Pakistan may coexist in the future: “I think Pakistan and India will live very nicely together,” Trump said as Pakistani Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif, who is behind him.
Sharif appreciated Trump for his “tireless and tireless efforts” in the mediation of conflicts: “Pakistan nominated President Trump for the Nobel Peace Prize for his excellent (a) extraordinary contributions to the first stop of the war between India and Pakistan.
He also expressed his willingness to nominate Trump again at the Nobel Peace Prize: “… for saving millions of lives not only in South Asia, but also in the Middle East.”
Trump claims diplomatic achievements
Trump has repeatedly emphasized his role in mediating international agreements. Before the ceasefire of Gaza, he claimed that he had resolved seven conflicts, including the India-Pakistani ceasefire, and after the Israel-Gaza conflict increased to eight.
“I didn’t do it for Nobel,” Trump said, referring to the price he missed last week.
India-Pakistan a ceasefire
India and Pakistan achieved an understanding of hostility on May 10. After four days of drones and rocket strokes triggered by Indian Sindoor surgery, which began on May 7 to focus on the terrorist infrastructure in Pakistan and Pakistan occupied Kashmir.
India constantly claimed that the agreements were achieved by direct conversations between the CEO of the Military Operations (DGMO) of both countries, emphasizing the structured army-invoking negotiation rather than external mediation.

Indian attitude
“India means peace in the Middle East and solving questions through dialogue and diplomacy,” said the Ministry of External Association (Mea) in its statement.
“We support the peace plan in Gaza President Trump and appreciate Egypt and Qatar for their valuable roles in achieving this goal and advancing way to peace.”
Mea Randhir Jaiswal spokesman noted: “India welcomes the signing of the land agreement and hopes that it will lead to a permanent level in the region.”
Summit Peace in Gaza in Egypt
President Trump addressed the Israeli parliament before traveling to Sharm El-Sheikh in Egypt to participate in the peace summit that was fellow with Egyptian President Abdel Fattah Al-Sisi. The summit joined the world leaders to sign a historical truce agreement in Gaza.
“This is the first time that the Middle East crisis has linked people, unlike their decomposition, and to say that our future will not be controlled by the fighting of past generations, which is foolish,” Trump said.
“So let’s continue together in the spirit of cooperation and goodwill that has finally brought us to this incredible, historical breakthrough.”
According to the peace plan of Israel, almost 2,000 prisoners and detainees released, while Hamas returned the remaining hostage.
Humanitarian context
The ceasefire, effective from Friday, is followed by a year -round conflict that began when Hamas attacked Israeli cities on October 7, 2023, killed about 1,200 people and took 251 hostages. According to the Ministry of Health in Hamas, Hamas led Israeli military operations.
Gaza continues to face a severe humanitarian crisis, with a lack of food and drugs and the levels of malnutrition considered to be a “alarming” world health organization.
Trump comes “Dawn from the new Middle East”
Trump described the ceasefire as a historical break: “After two harrowing years of darkness and captivity, 20 bold hostages return to the famous embrace of their families,” he said.
“This is the first time that the Middle East crisis has joined people … Within the reach of the region, a beautiful and much clearer future suddenly appears.”
