US President Donald Trump on Wednesday brought his hard rhetoric immigration directly to the white house lawn and wittyly questioned construction workers who had just installed two towering masts about whether any of them were undocumented immigrants.
During a press conference at 1600 Pennsylvania Ave. Trump was asked to deport his administration. In response, he said, “We will pull them thousands. The murderers, drug traders, people who are mentally crazy, from crazy asylums.”
Then he turned to a group of workers who wear hats standing behind him.
“We have someone who is a member – no, I don’t think so. Have you known these people for a long time?” Trump said before he asked, “Some illegal immigrants?”
“We’ll find out”
When the workers shook their heads, some of them smiled embarrassed, Trump added, “If they were there, we’ll find it.”
“Your whole life will be destroyed because of this press conference. They will destroy these people. I didn’t want to tell them before they got up,” he said with a grin before he reassured, “Don’t worry, I think you’re going to be okay.”
88 feet stop
The notes came after the workers built two massive 88-foot tracks-one on the northern lawn and the second on the southern lawn on Trump’s request.
On Tuesday, Trump announced a project on social media and called new installations “Gift from me to the White House”.
“These are the most amazing poles – they are high – they are tall, narrowing, rust resistance, rope inside the pole and the highest quality,” Trump wrote, adding that the White House “always lacked” such masts.
COMMENTS Follow the challenge for mass deportations
Trump’s joke came in the middle of the wider pressure of his administration to increase the promotion of immigration. At the weekend, the president ordered the immigration and recovery of customs (ICE) to escalate operations.
“To achieve this, we have to expand their efforts to detain and deport illegal extraterrestrials in the largest American cities such as Los Angeles, Chicago and New York, where millions of illegal aliens are located,” he said online.
Trump committed to launching the greatest deportation efforts in American history, if it is re -elected, part of his 2025 immigration agenda, which includes mass air raids and extended detention.
