The United States President Donald Trump said on Friday, August 29 that the decision of the US Court of Appeal, that most of his tariffs were illegal, was “incorrect”, he stressed that all tariffs still apply.
The call of the court “highly guerrilla”, Donald Trump insisted that fees were essential for US economic power and warned that their removal would be a “overall disaster” that the country would leave “financially weak”. Trump claimed that the US eventually prevails in defending this policy.
“All tariffs are still valid! Today, a highly guerrilla court of appeal incorrectly stated that our tariffs should be removed, but they know that the United States will eventually win. If these tariffs would ever disappear, it would be a complete disaster for the country.
Trump continued: “The US will no longer tolerate huge trade deficits and unfair tariffs, and not -the business barriers stored by other countries, a friend or an enemy undermined by our manufacturers, farmers and all others.
“At the beginning of this weekend, we should all remember that tariffs are the best tool to help our workers and support companies that produce greatly made in American products. For many years, tariffs have been used against us for many years.
What did the court say?
In a large wound of tariff policy Donald Trump, the US Federal Court of Appeal ruled that most of the US President’s tariffs, which influence numerous business partners, including India with 50 % of duties, was illegal – but allowed them to remain in place for the time being.
The judgment 7-4 of the Court of Appeal of the US Court for the Federal District confirmed the decision of the lower court that Trump exceeded its power to use emergency economic powers to impose extensive obligations.
The judges, however, allowed the tariffs to remain in place until mid -October, which gave both parties the time to build the matter to the Supreme Court.
