US President Donald Trump said on Wednesday (local time) that he would encounter Chinese President Xi Jinping in four weeks, while the soy problem is an important topic of their discussion.
He noted that the United States farmers are “injured” because China is not “buying” soya for “negotiating reasons” and promises to be behind them.

In his contribution, Trump reiterated the promise to use income revenue from customs to help farmers.
“The farmers of soybeans in our country are injured because China is, only for” negotiating “reasons, does not buy. We have earned so much money for tariffs that we will take a small part of this money and help our farmers.
Chinese importers have to buy soybeans from the American autumn harvest in the middle of the ongoing trade war between Washington and Beijing, resulting in lost sales for US farmers billions.
Autumn is usually a top marketing season for American soybeans because farmers harvest fresh crops. However, China, the largest soy buyer in the world, has moved its purchases to South America, which exerted pressure on the US soya awards, Reuters reported.

American Senator John Hoeven of Northern Dakota, Republican, after Tuesday’s briefing with US Ambassador to China, David Perdue, that he did not believe that there was a set time for China that would continue to buy American soy beans.
“He didn’t mean that the sale was immediate,” Hoeven said in an interview. “There were more discussions, we need to keep pressure until we get the sale and in the meantime support our farmers.”
Last month Trump said that he and Xi agreed during the call to meet face to face in South Korea to discuss the business conflict that the country was bitterly in conflict. Both leaders are ready to meet on the edge of the forum for economic cooperation in Asia and the Pacific during the last October in Gyeongja, South Korea.

Trump also said he would visit China early next year and that XI would come to the US later.
Country efforts to reduce trade tensions have led to the expectation that China could direct more agricultural purchases to the US as part of an agreement with Trump.
“They are buying from South America right now and using it to try to put pressure on us in these business negotiations,” Hoeven said.
In 2020, during the first term of Trump, he signed a business agreement with China, which included promises to buy tens of billions of dollars in American agricultural products while expanding the US approach to the Chinese agricultural markets.
China has never met its agreed purchase goals under the agreement and tried to diversify its food sources.
“The essence of economic and business cooperation in China is mutual benefits and mutually advantageous,” said Liu Pengu, spokesman for the Chinese embassy in Washington. “In principle, we hope that the US side will cooperate with China to implement important common understanding that our heads of state in their telephone call.”
