President Donald Trump on Thursday (October 9), who spoke at the Cabinet meeting, said he hoped to attend the signature of Egypt and mark the first phase of the Israel Arrangement Agreement.
“I’ll try to make a trip. We’ll try to get there and work on timing, accurate timing,” he said.
Trump Hails Gaza Home as a Historical Success
Trump remarked at the cabinet meeting: “I won’t spend so much time here, because I’m going to leave in the Middle East quite early. And I’m very honored to have been involved, I’ll tell you.”
Trump described an agreement on the ceasefire and hostage in Gaza as a milestone and emphasized its importance to the United States and the region. “It’s a great thing for our country. People are so happy about it. I’ve never experienced anything like that. I’ve never seen such a universal praise for doing something. It’s something no one thought about,” he said.
The US President expressed optimism about the wider consequences of the agreement and emphasized the potential for permanent peace. “And we will end up having peace in the Middle East,” Trump said, framing the agreement as a historical opportunity to solve long -term regional tension.
Egyptian President Abdel Fattah Al-Sisi had previously confirmed that he had invited Trump to the agreement to a “celebration that would take place in Egypt”.
Trump said he expects Hamas to release the remaining hostages by Monday or Tuesday under the terms of the Gaza ceasefire agreement.
“We have ensured the release of all the remaining hostages and should be released on Monday or Tuesday,” Trump told his Cabinet in the White House.
He warned, however, that the bodies of some dead hostages would be “hard to find”.
Possible Address of Israel’s Parliament
