US President Donald Trump announced the completion of his third medical of his second term on Truth Social on Wednesday (December 10th), insisting he received “perfect marks” from doctors at Walter Reed National Military Medical Center.
In his post, Trump emphasized the rigor of the evaluation, saying, “I am diligently doing long, thorough, and very boring medical exams at Great Walter Reed National Military Medical Center, monitored and supervised by top doctors, all of whom gave me PERFECT marks — some even said they had never seen such strong results.”
Cognitive tests highlighted
Trump also touted his performance on cognitive tests, stating that he “passed” all three tests during his tenure: “Besides the medical, I did something that no other president has done, on three separate occasions, by taking what is known as a cognitive test… I took all three in front of a large number of doctors and experts, most of whom I don’t know.”
He added that few people pass these exams, noting that many other presidents have chosen not to take them: “I’ve been told that few people ‘ace’ this exam, and in fact most do very poorly, which is why many other presidents choose not to take it at all.”
Trump criticizes media coverage
The president used the post to criticize the media, particularly The New York Times, accusing them of publishing fake news about his health and fitness: “Despite all of this, The New York Times and some others like to pretend that I’m ‘slowing down,’ maybe I’m not as sharp as I once was, or I’m in poor physical health, knowing that’s not true, maybe even for The New York Times and others to consistently report FAKEs with the goal of to insult and humiliate “THE PRESIDENT OF THE UNITED STATES”.
Trump called for accountability, claiming the media coverage was biased and misleading: “The best thing that could happen to this country would be for The New York Times to go out of business because they are a terrible, biased and untruthful ‘source’ of information.”
Trump said he was in excellent health during his first two medical examinations
Trump, 78, was declared in “excellent health” after his first two medical examinations of his second term, according to reports released by the White House. Both tests, conducted at Walter Reed National Military Medical Center, reaffirm his fitness to perform the duties of commander in chief.
First medical examination – April 13, 2025
Trump’s first routine physical took place on April 11, 2025, and the results were made public on April 13. The White House physician, US Navy Capt. Sean Barbella, said: “President Trump remains in excellent health, showing robust cardiac, pulmonary, neurological and general physical function. His active lifestyle continues to contribute greatly to his well-being.”
The report highlighted Trump’s frequent golf victories as evidence of his prowess and affirmed that he is “fully capable of carrying out the duties of commander-in-chief and head of state”. Minor issues included skin damage from the sun and a scar on his right ear from a previous assassination attempt. At the time, Trump weighed 224 pounds and was 75 inches tall. He was listed as taking medication for cholesterol, heart prevention and skin conditions.
Second medical examination – October 11, 2025
Trump’s second check-up took place on October 11, following what he described as a “semi-annual” physical. The 79-year-old president underwent a comprehensive examination, including advanced imaging, laboratory tests and preventive health evaluations.
White House officials confirmed that Trump received a flu shot and an updated COVID-19 booster. Barbella’s memorandum described the president’s results as: “Exceptional, including stable metabolic, hematological and cardiac parameters. The president can maintain a demanding daily regimen without restriction.”
The test came amid public curiosity about Trump’s visible bruising on his right hand and ankle swelling, linked to previously diagnosed chronic venous insufficiency and minor soft tissue irritation from frequent handshakes. Trump personally told reporters: He also claimed he scored a “perfect score” on a cognitive test during the checkup.
Health overview
Despite being the oldest US president in history, Trump continues to maintain a highly public lifestyle, regularly attending various events and playing golf. Although the president is a known fast food consumer, he is said to be in strong physical and cognitive health, according to his doctor.
Trump’s health has remained a key topic of concern during his second term, especially after concerns about the fitness of other political leaders for office.
