The Ministry of Justice has a sound record of a recent interview with Ghislaine Maxwell and Trump’s administration is currently discussing whether to release a transcript, CNN reported on Tuesday, August 5), quoting three higher administration officials.
Maxwell, the convicted collaborator of Jeffrey Epstein, was interviewed last month by the Deputy Prosecutor Todd Blanch for a two -day period at the American lawyer in Tallahassee, Florida.
“The final decision was not made,” said one higher news officer and confirmed that the discussion was taking place in the White House and justice.
Several administration allegedly sees edition as a way to take control of narration, especially after extensive criticism of how Epstein -related files were addressed.
“Many officials were frustrated by introducing information,” one of the sources said. “They want to control optics around the problem.”
Sensitive editors were considered
One clerk said CNN that recording is currently rewritten and digitized, but parts that could endanger sensitive details – such as the victim’s names – would have to be edited before any public publication.
“The release could be in a few weeks,” another source said, explaining that the timeline depends on the decisions made at the highest level of West Wing and the impression.
It remains unclear whether the White House and the Ministry of Justice fully agree on how to proceed.
The ongoing legal battle and transfer of Maxwell’s prison
Ghislaine Maxwell, who was sentenced in 2022 for 20 years in a federal prison for her role in care and sexual abuse of minors with Epstein, continues to appeal from her condemnation, including the petition before the Supreme Court.
Last week, she was moved from the federal prison in Florida to a prison camp with lower security in Texas-Varis developing for someone who was convicted of sexual crimes.
White House under pressure on the transparency of Epstein
The possible release of Maxwell’s conversation comes in the middle of the growing pressure from Trump’s political base to show greater transparency related to Epstein -related documents.
The White House claimed that the Ministry of Justice should publish all the “trusted evidence” related to the case.
