Truck driver seriously injured after boulders fall at Thiruvananthapuram quarry in Kerala

A truck driver sustained serious injuries after a mass of boulders and loose earth fell on his vehicle at a quarry in the Maramuttam Kottakkal area of ​​Neyyattinkara in Kerala’s Thiruvananthapuram district on Saturday morning.

According to the police, the incident took place at around seven o’clock in the morning in the quarry, where several trucks had entered and parked to transport material.

Huge rocks and soil that had been released from the upper levels of the quarry’s rock face suddenly landed on top of one of the trucks parked below.

The driver, identified as Anilkumar, sustained serious injuries and was taken to Government Medical College Hospital, Thiruvananthapuram.

No one else was reported injured.
