The nine-day annual Brahmotsavams at the Sri Kapileswara Swamy Temple conducted by the TTD concluded on Tuesday (February 17, 2026) with the ‘Trisula Snanam’. A heavenly bath with milk, holy water and related products was performed on the trident idol in accordance with the Shaiva Agama (doctrine of temple worship).

Rituals like “Poornahuthi” and “Kalasabhishekam” were also performed to the presiding deity (Moolavarlu) inside the sanctum sanctorum. Earlier, the Nataraja deity was taken in a grand procession on ‘Surya Prabha Vahanam’ to Anna Rao Circle in the city and back to the temple.

In the evening, a ‘Dhwajavarohanam’ was held during which the sacred flag hoisted atop the temple flagpole was taken down, marking the end of the grand festival. “Ravanasura Vahanam” was performed late in the evening.
