Former India coach Kris Srikkanth called Tristan Stubbs an overrated player after his poor form continued in IPL 2026. Delhi Capitals completely collapsed after the powerplay in their last loss against KKR.
Stubbs again failed with the bat, scoring just two off four balls before he was imprisoned by Anukul Roy. This saw the South African’s poor run of form continue as he scored 259 runs in 11 matches. After a good start to the season. Stubbs has disappeared with scores of 5.18, 38 and 2 in his last four matches.

Taking to his YouTube channel, Srikkanth attacked DC for their batting and questioned the contributions of the likes of Stubbs, Sameer Rizvi and Nitish Rana during the match.
“What was that batting from DC? Horrible batting.”
“I keep saying it. Tristan Stubbs is an overrated player. Rizvi played well in the beginning but he should have contributed. It was a crucial game for Nitish Rana,” Srikkanth said.
‘SCORE AT LEAST 180’
DC scored just 11 runs in overs 12 to 16 and mustered just 142 runs in their innings. KKR caught up with 5.4 overs to spare, Finn Allen scoring a brilliant hundred.
Srikkanth said DC should have scored at least 180 runs on this practice track after winning the toss and opting to bat first. The former India opener said Delhi’s middle order is done and called Axar Patel a total failure with the bat.
“And on a spin and twisty track like this, after winning the toss and batting first, you have to score at least 180. This is not a ground where you can casually think that runs will come easily.”
“In all fairness, if someone gets going they can bat brilliantly here. But the reality is their middle order is gone. KL Rahul’s shot was very surprising. That ball stopped completely on him and it was a very, very poor shot from KL Rahul.
“And honestly, there was no response from Stubbs at all on that Anukul Roy ball.
“Axar Patel totally failed with the bat. Only Ashutosh Sharma somehow kept fighting, scoring 20, 30, 40 runs every game. Poor guy, he is batting really well. That’s the only reason they got that total. Otherwise they would have been all out for 120, maybe even 110 or 115,” Srikkanth said.
DC will face PBKS in their next match in Dharamsala on May 11.
