Leader of the opposition in outgoing West Bengal Suvendu Adhikari rally on Friday (April 17, 2026) claimed that the decision the Trinamool Congress (TMC) issued “fake press ID cards” to its workers to gain access to polling stations and manipulate the election process.
The allegation came a day after the TMC accused Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) of violating the poll code by “launching a scheme called ‘Karta Matrishakti Bhorsa’, promising financial help to women and distributing forms across constituencies in the last days before polling”. She termed the move as “election bribery by the BJP” and demanded action against its leaders.
