The Minister of the Tribe Welfare Gummmadi Sandhya Rani laid the foundation stone for the construction of a tribal multipurpose marketing center (TMMC) on Wednesday. The completion of the center will play a key role in strengthening the social and financial conditions of tribes living in Srisailam and the surrounding areas.
On this occasion, Mrs. Sandhya Rani said that the center would be a blessing for the tribes of the region, as it will act as a platform for the sale of its agriculture, forest resources and material that they produce from forest products. She said that the establishment of the center would increase job opportunities for local tribes and added that the government would set up more such centers in other places in the future.
Collector Rajakumari Ganiya said that the government is taking steps to be well -being and develop the Chenchu tribes in the forests. As part of her visit to the Nandyal district, Mrs. Sandhya Rani also inaugurated the Nannari juice processing unit in Atmakur.
